10 Things you must do on your personal blogs

You must do certain things before 2012 ends. These things are very important for keeping your blog or personal webpage attractive and readable during 2013 also. I would like to list down 10 important things that you must do to enhance your personal blog or personal webpage. I have find time to re-write the entire article in some of my posts. If you are interested to attract more traffic during the year 2013 you also must do the following 10 important things during next two weeks that come in 2012.

1. Add  tags to your posts where tags are missing or you feel additional tags are required.
2. Re-write the entire article that were not attracted enough traffic. Spend time on personal blog posts with minimum traffic.
3. Add a few words to illustrate the meaning of your posts where there is some ambiguity.
4. Add images to posts where they are missing.
5. Add tags to images where somebody can easily find them on Google search.
6. Check whether all your posts are listed in Google.
7. Do a little bit of SEO-ing to enhance your posts.
8. Add a few more cross links to your posts to make them more visible.
9.Delete one or two posts if you feel they are not worth appearing on your personal blog.
10. Share your posts on Google plus and facebook.

Keyword Stuffing

Key word stuffing is an SEO mistake that made by new comers. It is a practice of including keywords where ever possible. This may attract search engine and consider your article as more relevant one. But for stuffing key words the writer may sacrifice some of  the aesthetic value of the content. That means the article is more search engine oriented than human oriented. Google warns that this is a bad practice and you must avoid that. Then what is a possible well written essay? It may contain a reasonable number of key words. It should not contain any more keywords than it is required for a smooth reader understanding. But my opinion in this case is that you can include one keyword in the first sentence and in the last sentence if it is not appearing naturally.

Short or Long Contents?

A talk is going on about the content length. Some readers want deeper and detailed content while others want brief to the point writing. A study was made by popular blog writer and he find out that his readers like shorter and to the point bit of information. Now the question is whether search engines like these short bits of articles or term it as shallow articles and rank low in search results. The debate is going on and Google says its mantra once again, “write for the human readers and you will get good ranking” For time being my advice is to write minimum as possible. Express your mood in 100 – 200 words. If you want tell something in detail make that another post.

SEO Mistakes:Link Farms

One mistake that every new blogger may make is creating web pages with many outward links. The web pages or blog posts with several outward link stuffed in it is called a link farm. This is done purposefully or by mistake. In both cases the search engines especially Google treat them very severely. The outward links will be ignored or the page rank is reduced by search engines. So as a new blogger you must keep away from creating web pages with too many outward links or link farms. A correct proposition is very difficult to lay down. But one must include just enough outward hyperlinks that help the user or reader to understand the subject. By keeping the hyperlinks within a reasonable limit can help the web page link farm proof or good for search engines. In my opinion a blogger should limit as one hyperlink per blog.
